Government Hints at 6 Month Limit on Rating Appeal Submissions

Houses -of -parliament -1055056_1920

On 11 September 2017 the government hinted that they are considering introducing a 6 month time limit on the submission of rating appeals in England and Wales.  This came in the form of an answer by the under-secretary for state for the DCLG to an obscure question in the House of Lords.

If this proposal is introduced alongside the complex Check Challenge Appeal rules it will create huge difficulties for ratepayers.
