Reserved matters consent has been secured by DWD at committee for new Community Gardens as part of the Beaulieu development in Chelmsford.
The gardens will act as a new community hub within the Beaulieu development and were sensitively designed to preserve the setting of the Grade I Listed New Hall School and the remains of a 16th Century Lime Kiln discovered at the site.
Liaison with Historic England, the Council?s planning, conservation and design officers and engagement with Local Councillors meant that the Planning Committee unanimously granted permission for the gardens, despite some local opposition.
