DWD Secure Planning Permission for Big Yellow Self Storage in Uxbridge

Following pre-application discussions with South Bucks District Council and engagement with local residents, DWD worked closely with Mountford Pigott Architects to secure planning permission for a new Big Yellow Self Storage in Uxbridge. The consented scheme comprises of a four storey self-storage facility, which will provide a total of 7,250 sqm gross of self-storage space.

The 0.38 hectare site backs on to the River Colne and is located on the north east side of Oxford Road. Much of the surrounding land falls within the Green Belt. The site is on the edge of South Bucks District and therefore the self-storage facility will be one of the first buildings visitors see when arriving in the District and travelling north along Oxford Road. Careful consideration was therefore given to the design and use of materials to ensure that they appropriately reflect the site’s location.

Planning Permission was unanimously granted by South Bucks Planning Committee, who praised the design.
