DWD Secure Planning Permission for New Big Yellow Self-Storage in Queensbury

DWD worked closely with Mountford Pigott Architects to secure planning permission, on behalf of Big Yellow Self Storage, for the redevelopment of 20 Cumberland Road in Queensbury to provide a five-storey self-storage facility and flexible office space. The scheme will provide 8,061 sqm of self-storage space and 139 sqm of flexible office space helping to revitalise the economic function of a Locally Significant Industrial Site.

The proposed self-storage facility will replace the tired and outdated buildings that exist, and will provide a layout that will maximise the utilisation of this brownfield site. The scale and massing responds to an emerging townscape context comprising new industrial/commercial buildings to the north and west, and a new residential neighbourhood to the south and east.

The facility will help to meet growing domestic and business storage needs, generate significant direct employment and provide a range of space for small and medium enterprises.
