DWD are supporting Net Zero Teesside on their Stage 2 consultation, which started last week, and the preparation of their Development Consent Order application.
Net Zero Teesside (NZT) is a Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) project which aims to develop a network to enable the decarbonisation of a cluster of carbon-intensive businesses on Teesside by as early as 2030 and deliver the UK’s first zero-carbon industrial cluster. NZT will comprise a number of elements, including a new gas-fired power station, with state-of-the-art carbon capture technology. CO2 from the power station, as well as from a cluster of local industries on Teesside, will be captured through a common CO2 pipeline network and transported for secure storage at a suitable offshore geological site under the North Sea.
The Net Zero Teesside website https://www.netzeroteesside.com/consultation/ provides further details on the consultation.
