DWD have taken a leading role in negotiations and at Valuation Tribunal (VT) hearings on behalf of 6 clients with regards to Material Change of Circumstances (MCC) appeals in Watford.
The MCC related to the impact on value of the extension and refurbishment of Intu Watford. During the work there was significant disruption and a demonstrable drop in visitors to the town.
Following our submissions, the VT accepted that the building works and trade disruption had an impact on value.
The Tribunal awarded a 7.5% reduction in rateable value across the whole of the existing Intu Watford Shopping Centre and large parts of the High Street.
