Peter has 29 years’ professional experience in both the public and private property sectors and is a RICS Registered Valuer.
He was previously a Partner and Head of Valuation, Compensation & Litigation at Rapleys LLP before joining DWD in January 2018.
He provides professional valuation, site assembly and strategic advice to corporate and individual clients throughout the UK on development opportunities, including the delivery of high profile complex residential/mixed use development and regeneration schemes. He has a particular specialism in unlocking access issues and advising in respect of encumbrances on development such as utility and covenant restrictions.
Peter has extensive experience in providing detailed compulsory purchase and compensation advice dealing with all aspects of the process from scheme inception, including the negotiation of Development/Indemnity Agreements, through to the settlement of compensation claims or presentation of evidence to the Lands Chamber. As part of this Peter also presents Expert Evidence to Public Inquiries, Parliamentary Select Committees and DCO examinations.
In addition, Peter provides viability/affordable housing advice and negotiates Section 106 obligations in this regard as well as presenting Expert valuation and viability evidence in support of planning appeals and Inquiries.
He also provides Expert evidence to the County Court and High Court and is familiar with mediation and adjudication proceedings in respect of professional negligence, Option Agreements, Overage provisions, utility easements/wayleaves, Section 18 Landlord & Tenant Act 1954 diminution, Rights of Light profit assessments and release of covenant restrictions.
Peter is regularly appointed by the RICS to act as an Independent Expert in respect of “non rent” valuation disputes and accepts appointments, by the agreement of the parties, as an Independent Expert in respect of compensation matters.
