DWD are pleased to have supported Aberdeen Standard Investment?s Airport Industrial Property Unit Trust (AIPUT) ?in obtaining planning permission from the London Borough of Hounslow for a landmark cargo warehouse immediately south of Heathrow Airport.
The warehouse, which has been pre-let to dnata, extends to nearly 28,000 sq ms, including a decked car park, and has been designed to accommodate the operational requirements of Virgin Atlantic Cargo and Delta Cargo.? It will complement dnata?s existing facilities at Heathrow.
The buildings, known as dnata City East, represents one of the largest off-airport pre-lets at Heathrow, benefitting from a strategic location opposite the Heathrow Cargo Terminal and adjacent to the Southern Perimeter Road.
The scheme involves development partly on Green Belt land and also within the boundary of a Scheduled Monument.? DWD advised AIPUT on the strategy for obtaining the necessary consents and led the discussions with the London Borough of Hounslow, the Greater London Authority and Historic England.
DWD also advised AIPUT on the prior notification requirements for the demolition of the existing building at the site and obtained the necessary prior approval from the London Borough of Hounslow.
