DWD has obtained acceptance of the South Humber Bank Energy Centre DCO application on behalf of EP Waste Management.
This is the first acceptance by the Planning Inspectorate since February, and the only acceptance in the context of coronavirus controls and guidance. The written ministerial statement by Robert Jenrick of 13 May has highlighted the importance of keeping the planning system working effectively and the roles of the Planning Inspectorate and applicants in moving towards digital processes and participation methods.
DWD is providing a range of solutions to carry out the required publicity of the application and allow potential interested parties to safely engage with the application and obtain documents. These include dedicated technology, supplementary contact methods and extended timescales.
The examination hearings may also be conducted online and DWD will be providing technical solutions where required to do so by the Planning Inspectorate.
